Is there any good formula for successfully beta-testing a new paid membership site?

February 26th, 2009 by admin

The site offers 30 days for $1, but is it best to first get a group of beta testers to put it through its paces and give feedback? Anyone know of any good sources of info for how to best go about doing this.. . or it is simply "get a bunch of people to use it and tell you how it works and what they thought"

It is always best to get beta-testers before fully deploying any project. There are many factors that will contribute to how long you leave this in beta-testing.

Things to consider:
1) Time and man-hours it takes to update website
2) Time that website will be down
3) Number of beta-testers
4) Number of developers\programmers

One thing to remember is that if websites go down or problems are encountered people will lose interest and may not trust the site in the future when it is fully up and running.
