Why do membership sites that are meant to be free ask for credit card details?
March 31st, 2009 by admin
I'm trying to join a website but it says I have to put my credit card details in, and that it'll charge me £1. Obviously I don't care about paying £1 but will it charge me in future without letting me know? I don't want to set myself up for being slowly bled dry!
Don't do it. Its just a trick so that they can get your credit card information. I would say do it if you really and truly trust that website. Those websites are trying to steal all your money.

they ask for your credit card because why not. maybe your one of the millions of morons that they can rip off given the chance. if you don't know, why chance it? i would get a small $25 (or equiv) gift card, then they don't have your credit at there fingertips.

Dont feed your credit card details unless you trust the site.
Usually, the sites bearing FREE which demands your card detail will definitely go wrong. Stay away from these sites
